Sri Lanka-Canada Business Council Delegation Meets with Council of Ontario Universities
The Sri Lanka-Canada Business Council (SLCBC) of the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce delegation, currently visiting Canada, held a productive meeting with Steve Orsini, President and CEO of the Council of Ontario Universities. This meeting focused on exploring avenues to enhance collaboration between Canadian universities and Sri Lankan education providers, particularly in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) fields.

During the discussions, both parties expressed keen interest in developing a robust network to facilitate academic exchange, joint research initiatives, and expanded opportunities for Transnational Education (TNE). The meeting highlighted the mutual benefits of strengthening the connection between educational institutions in both countries, paving the way for further cooperation in research and academic programs that align with global education trends.

The SLCBC delegation, led by President Priyantha Chandrasekera, emphasized the growing demand in Sri Lanka for expertise in STEM areas and the potential for joint ventures that could enhance the educational infrastructure and opportunities available to students and professionals. The Council of Ontario Universities welcomed the opportunity to explore partnerships with Sri Lankan institutions, which could foster innovation, knowledge sharing, and cultural exchange.
